Problems in Airborne Dose ‒ Individual Dose Conversion Studies

To manage radiation exposure in long-term contaminated area, studies linking airborne doses with individual dose measured with personal dosimeter measurements were reported (Naito et al. 2015, 2016, 2017; Miyazaki and Hayano 2017; Murakami et al. 2019). They report individual dose is smaller than projected doses based on airborne dose, assuming that people spend 8 hours outdoors and 16 hours indoors per day (the dose reduction factor for wooden houses is 0.4.).
